The Armada

This was a book that was assigned in a World History class once upon a time. The second (voluntary) occasion of reading it thirty years later was far more enjoyable, as the pressures of a long test and longer paper weren’t hovering over the text. This is a comprehensive look at the naval battle between Spain and England in the late sixteenth century, as well as the political, economic, and religious factors that led to the battle. It is thoroughly researched, but written like a novel. It is detailed enough to warrant being assigned by a passionate taskmaster of a professor, but entertaining enough to be read independently.

Journal Entry 2 by MapheadMike at Asa Bales Park in Westfield, Indiana USA on Sunday, April 15, 2018
The Little Free Library in this park is overstuffed. So stop by and grab something, even if it's not this one. Happy hunting. Happy reading.
Westfield is the fourth town in this year's 52 Towns Challenge.

Found this book at a Little Free Library in Westfield Indiana. We were actually passing through the area from Kokomo back to Indianapolis. Picked up this great book to read again! I read it many moons ago...but I am sure I will appreciate it more now! History is fascinating! People should take the time to learn as much as they can!! I will pass this along to another LFL when I am done. THANKS for sharing this great book!
Great Book! Have always loved it!
Going to drop this off in our personal Little Free Library called Naptown Books here in Indianapolis.
