Read this one in 2014 and it appears I never registered the book. Here's my GR review from then:

Another excellent installment in the UF series. Mercy Thompson is a great kick-ass heroine and she does not disappoint her fans in this story. She goes out Black Friday shopping with Jesse only to find that the rest of the pack, including Adam, has been kidnapped by some very bad, potentially rogue government agents. She is cut off from most of her usual help and is quickly backed into a corner to survive, protect what's left of the pack, and rescue/get help to the pack. She rescues Kyle, Warren's boyfriend, with the help of Stefan and enlists Tad to protect Gabriel and Jesse. There is plenty of supernatural twists and turns, but it is the human element - Kyle - who is the real hero of the first part of the novel. Of course, Adam is uber-Alpha and Briggs finally gives us his POV in this novel. I liked that change - it was interesting to get his take on what was happening to Mercy. This is a great series and I'll be looking forward to the next one.
