I got this paperback at a local Savers thrift shop, and was glad of another release copy. The title and Escher-ian cover-art caught my eye, but I enjoyed the story as well.
I admit I'm giving this one extra points for its Mount Auburn Cemetery scenes; I've been there, including a climb to the top of the tower (though without any vengeful people or ghosts trying to push me off), and can easily imagine spending lots of time there if I lived within walking distance. I also got a kick out of the many local references - building styles, history, even specific street names ("Hey, I found a Little Free Library near there!").
But I enjoyed the story even without considering the odd doppelganger elements. The gradual unraveling of the tale behind the tragic death of a child kept my interest, and I enjoyed the in-character chat between the Kellys and Leonard.
The Escher aspect was tied in pretty well too, not just thrown in for effect. All in all, a very good read!
