A wonderful time-travel adventure by the author of Doomsday Book. This takes place in Oxford, England in the year of 2060. Traveling historians are sent back in time to study past events such as the American Civil War and the Attack on the World Trade Center. In Blackout, several time travelers are sent back to 1940s, to study World War II, only to find that the time-travel lab is shut down, for no apparent reason, and switching everyone's schedules. Things turn back for our traveling friends as they face air raids, blackouts, bombs, rationing and a dreadful sense that they might not make it out of their history assignments without screwing up the course of history or making it out alive. This is book one of a two-part series. The second book is called All Clear. I highly recommend reading both books.
