Statistics, epidemiology and logic applied to examples of bad science - everything from TV and newspapers to academic journals. Some of the examples of wacky theories are a bit dated (Goldacre's newspaper columns span a decade), but the techniques he uses to refute them are still relevant (and many of those wacky theories are still depressingly virulent on Facebook today...)
