The goddess Athene thought she was creating a utopia.
It should have been easy - just create a time loop around an island doomed to be destroyed centuries later, and populate it with extraordinary men, women, and children borrowed from throughout history. Then watch as the mortals forge a harmonious society based on Platon's Republic.
And gods, too - the ever-curious Apollo, wounded by Daphne's rejection, decides to join Athene's experiment, incarnating himself as a mortal child to gain a better understanding of humanity and their confusing reactions.
But as always, the best-laid plans are susceptible to the unpredictability of life. Ranging from the doomed sands of Atlantis to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, humans and gods will discover truths and seek vengeance - but most of all, they will learn, together, to live.
It's got Greek gods, time travel, philosophy and robots, the perfect mix for me.
