Small town mystery. At 13, Frank Drum is often at the outskirts of adult happenings. When a boy is found dead near the railroad tracks at the same time an ex-con returns to town the townsfolk search for a connection. As pastor, Frank's father is often privy to both official and unofficial information. And Frank and his younger brother Jake watch and listen to their parents, recently graduated sister, and other adults as the events unfold.
