It is the last day of 2017, and I am registering the last book for my Canada 150 project-- my 150th. It is this copy of Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town, purchased at a used bookstore I like in my neighbouring city, Kitchener ON (the store is called Second Look Books).

This book is a classic of Canadian literature which I have read/bookcrossed a number of times in the past. In celebration of the sesquicentennial, I dedicated my 2017 bookcrossing activity to the reading and sharing of Canadian stories. I thought that this author and this book were an essential inclusion to a Canadian reading list, so I am registering this book as the last one in my Canada 150 project.

My husband and I made a little detour through Orillia this evening as we were driving up to Torrance Barrens. I wanted to leave this book in Orillia because of Leacock's connection to Orillia and Orillia's connection to Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town! I chose Mariposa Market as my release spot because of the name. Unfortunately, the market had already closed by the time we got there, but I understand that it's having a birthday celebration tomorrow, so hopefully there will be lots of patrons around then! Since the market wasn't open, obviously we couldn't go in, so we improvised and hung the book (in a protective bag) from a parking meter just out front.
