In January, 1943, 230 French women were transported to Auschwitz. They had been detained by the Gestapo due to their resistance activities. This is the story of these women, their arrests and life in the camps. It's very difficult at times to read of the events that took place, but it is also an account of how they developed such close friendships with one another. This friendship played a large part in keeping many of them alive through unspeakable horrors.
