This is the second book (the first one is called the The little beach street bakery) however she does repeat some of the first story so would still make sense if you haven't read the first one. It still has lots of my favourite characters from the first book, including Neil the puffin.
This time, Polly buys a light house, she has a new unpleasant boss and buys a van to continue her baking whilst Polly and Huckle are finding long distance relationship hard. Life by the sea still has its challenges.
I read this book straight after the first one and really enjoyed both books.
