Last Hope Island: Britain, Occupied Europe, and the Brotherhood That Helped Turn the Tide of War

This is one of the best books I have ever read. The writing is impeccable as is the detailed research. Britain and the Allies during WWII; not always an easy relationship. The exiled leaders of many occupied countries ended up in London for the duration. Churchill and Roosevelt did not always agree. Resistance fighters are the unsung heroes of D-Day, and Poland and Czechoslovakia got no respect. Insight into the closed-door machinations
during the war, MI6, and the failures/successes of the SOE. Wow. I could read it again and again. Thank you, Lynne Olson!
