WILD RELEASE NOTES:
off as part of the International Wishlist Tag Game

The book has travelled a long way and is now with me. Thank you so much Edwardstreet.

"In a small fishing village on the banks of the East Sea, a club-footed, cleft-lipped man marries a fifteen-year-old girl. The couple have one child, their beloved daughter Sunja. When Sunja falls pregnant by a married yakuza, the family face ruin. But then Isak, a Christian minister, offers her a chance of salvation: a new life in Japan as his wife.
Following a man she barely knows to a hostile country in which she has no friends, no home, and whose language she cannot speak, Sunja s salvation is just the beginning of her story.
Through eight decades and four generations, Pachinko is an epic tale of family, identity, love, death and survival."
Very well researched.
Tagging sakirmo in International Wishlist Tag Game 1.

Unfortunately gave up on this after six chapters, I've read too many similar stories already... Just couldn't find enough interest to keep following this one.

Found at the Meet Up. A book I've been thinking every now and then. And here it is!

Just amazing. Loved every page even though the topic is heavy. I never really knew how hard it is and was for Koreans in Japan. I want to learn more.
