Second book of the Catteni Sequence. Stuck on Botany, the colonists with their one catteni ally are determined to make it home. But Zainal is determined to push his agenda of freeing both humans and catteni from the Eosi overlords. Meanwhile the Eosi who should have had Zainal as a host takes his jealous brother instead, and is set on destroying Zainal and the Botany colony. Unfortunately this is not one of McCaffrey's better books, with too much repetition of the same joke and very little character development.
