The Murder Room

Arrived from Better World Books sometime in the last week.
Commander Adam Dalgliesh investigates a murder that takes place in the "murder room" - a part of an unusual museum, the Dupayne. Dedicated to events that took place during the interwar years. That is, between WWI and WWII.
The museum was the love child of one man, and his heirs are not united in wanting to keep it. Thus, when one of them is murdered, there appears to be a motive. Actually, there turn out to be many motives possible, so sorting through them is a job for the Commander and his worthy team.
As usual, it is the characters who make the book, as interesting as the plot is. Dalgliesh has gotten under my skin, so much so that I haven't liked the television series based on these books because that vision of the poet-investigator is so different from mine.

Sending to a friend for her guest room.
