I bought this book at a charity shop in the nearby city of Waterloo, Ontario. My husband and I have a thing about otters (being each other's otter, much as many people are each other's lobster thanks to Friends!), so when I saw this book I had to show it to him. We bought it and read it together; it was very sweet and the illustrations by artist (and writer) Olena Kassian were quite impressive.

In celebration of the sesquicentennial, I have dedicated this year's bookcrossing activity to the reading and sharing of Canadian stories. I am unsure of Olena Kassian's status in terms of citizenship etc, but she came here as a small child and has lived, trained, and worked here for a very long time... so I am happy to include this book of hers in my Canada 150 project!

My Otter and I decided to escape the heat of our house for a while tonight by going for a drive, and we went to Otterville. We walked in the park while we were there and I left this book (in a protective bag) near the swimming pool entrance. I thought that Otterville might be a good place for Slip to find her next home!
