EDITED: APRIL 2021 At last, that promised BURBLE.

October, 1969. Moscow. Paul Dark is a broken man. A terrible mistake twenty-four years ago led to him being recruited into Soviet intelligence, but he has paid a heavy price for it. Now locked up in a cell, distrusted even by those he once served, Dark has nothing for company but the ghosts of his past when he is woken in the early hours and taken to a secret location. There, he discovers that the Soviets believe they are about to face a nuclear attack by the West -- and are planning to strike first as a result. Dark realizes at once that the truth of the matter involves the final days of the Second World War, and the final mission he undertook as a loyal British agent.
Now the fate of the entire world rests on the shoulders of one man: a traitor long past his best, who is soon the subject of a massive man-hunt in one of the most repressive regimes in history. Dark needs to make it to a small island in the Baltic before it's too late -- and the clock is ticking.

I’ve managed to register my 2017 book stockpile from the same source so it was high time I dug out the rest of my 2016 stash and made sure they are registered too.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Now listed as ‘Travelling’, because this will be posted later today in one of three Birthday Celebration BookCrossing parcels!

Heard Duns talking at the first Edinburgh Spy Week 2104, organised by Penny Fielding of Edinburgh University, and was happy to pick up a copy of this when the opportunity arose. However, I passed this on unread to another spy-thriller fan as I had not got round to securing the two books preceeding this, and my plan to read them in order had floundered.

Journal Entry 3 by Flutterbies9 at Meare, Somerset United Kingdom on Sunday, September 2, 2018
Arrived in Somerset as part of Mr Flutterbies9's bumper birthday set of packages.

I think this is a new author for him but with tbr having just been added to in spectacular fashion, I'm not sure how long he will take to get around to it!

Journal Entry 4 by Flutterbies9 at Meare, Somerset United Kingdom on Sunday, November 22, 2020
Mr Flutterbies9 decided to try and read this one which he managed to do in a week. However he said that he found it rather farfetched in plotline, somewhat predictable in what would happen and although he finished this book he thought the ending was a little weak but obviously leading into the next book - which he is not inclined to look for. Conclusion, although this was a new author for Mr Flutterbies9, he will not be following him.

I have no set plan for this at present, but it may well go into a bookbox!
