Isabel Johansen, a celebrated chef who grew up in the enchanting Sonoma town of Archangel, is transforming her childhood home into a destination cooking school—a unique place for other dreamers to come and learn the culinary arts. Bella Vista's rambling mission-style hacienda, with its working apple orchards, bountiful gardens and beehives, is the idyllic venue for Isabel's project…and the perfect place for her to forget the past.
But Isabel's carefully ordered plans begin to go awry when swaggering, war-torn journalist Cormac O'Neill arrives to dig up old history. He's always been better at exposing the lives of others than showing his own closely guarded heart, but the pleasures of small-town life and the searing sensuality of Isabel's kitchen coax him into revealing a few truths of his own.

Traveling, along with some other books, as a very belated birthday gift. Hope you like it!
Thank you for the wonderful books for my birthday. And thanks for extending my birthday for a few more months.
This is another good Susan Wiggs story. Besides the story of Isabel who's dream is to have a teaching cooking school at her home of Bella Vista, there are recipes to tempt you into cooking yourself. In the story, along comes Cormac O'Neill to write a story about her Grandfather, and Isabel finds herself being drawn to him. I'll not reveal anything else except to say it's a good read.
Released to NancyNova for her reading pleasure.

Adding to the ABC TBR paperback stash. Thanks!

Nice book, with a lot of honey in it - honey recipes, honey for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The author could have cut down on the honey and maybe beefed up the characters more. Back and forth about the grandfather's life in Denmark during the war & present day. Twist at the end with Isabel's father...not sure if that will spin out into another book. Off to another BC'r as a RABCK.

KTM Wishlist book. Enjoy!
Book has arrived safely in NJ. Thanks for the RABCK!
My daughter read this, said it was okay, just a bit hokey.
Sending to dvg for the wishlist tag game.
Thank you so much for tagging me with this wishlist book! I am looking forward to reading it and sharing quickly as I know it's on a few wishlists. :)
This is a continues the story of Isabel from The Apple Orchard. I loved The Apple Orchard and was excited to receive this new installation. I cannot say that this was a great read. It was okay. It was too wordy and it took a long time to get to the point. At 400 pages, I expected better...more depth to it. I hate to admit that I skimmed a lot of pages. I have read other books by the author and enjoyed them but not sure if I would read another installment of this series.

I enjoy Susan Wiggs. I had mixed feelings on this one...probably all me. I hope you enjoy. Happy Reading and Happy BookCrossing!
Thank you, DVG! Looks like a good story. Since I love to cook and grow food, this sets up to be a good summer read, for me, when I am done working in the garden and sipping ice tea on the back porch.
