The true story of an honor killing in present day Jordan. The author, after fleeing her home to save her own life, wrote the book from internet cafes. Definitely a first book, but a gripping story, nonetheless - I read it all in one sitting. Khouri gives an eye-opening description of life for ordinary women in modern Jordan. I highly recommend it!
