I found this handsome hardcover at a local Savers thrift shop. It's a collection of myths from North American native peoples, retold and woven into one great creation myth, with lyrical prose and charming embellishments. Some of the myths feature historical encounters between the first peoples and the Europeans - John Colter's famous run, for example. History and legend combined - a lovely book!
