I got this softcover at a local Goodwill thrift store. It's billed as "a cookbook for newly married people," but of course the recipes work for anyone - they're mostly sized for 2, but that's easily adjusted. I enjoyed the author's commentary, from the introduction (which includes the advice that "the most important role that the non-cook can play is that of cooking enabler - doing everything he or she can do to make sure the cook will cook again") to the many recipe notes (on a cream scone recipe that serves 8... "if each person eats only one scone (unlikely)"). That scone recipe does look good, as do many others, from the elaborate to the very, very simple (a raw fennel and radish salad).

I left this book on a window ledge near a lovely Valentine display; hope the finder enjoys it!
