Nabbed this from a friend's family's free book shelf (don't you wish you knew them too!). This is considered an important Canadian novel, by an important Native author. My friend's father's review was that it was good, but not The Great Canadian Novel. I'll have more to say once I've read it.

An excellent novel, would definitely recommend picking it up. I should mention that there's a glossary of Cree terms in the back--I only discovered this after reading it, since I don't tend to look ahead when I'm reading. It's possible to understand without it. I found the style a little confusing at first, and took some getting used to, but worth the effort. His quirky sense of humour also took me a bit to understand.
