I bought this book at a local charity shop in my hometown of Cambridge, ON. I can see from a stamp inside the cover that it once belonged to Humberside Collegiate Institute, so I guess it has already travelled here from Toronto (about 100 km).
In celebration of the sesquicentennial, I have dedicated this year's bookcrossing activity to the reading and sharing of Canadian stories. I believe this story was written by an American, but it is about slaves escaping to Canada, so it tells a Canadian story too-- the story of how some of our people came to settle here. I am including it in my Canada 150 project.
