I bought this book at a local charity shop in my hometown of Cambridge, ON. It is a nice little story about a Newfoundland girl trying to convince her family and townspeople that she's seen a polar bear. I like the art in the book, and the story too. I thought it was a fun little book.

In celebration of the sesquicentennial, I have dedicated this year's bookcrossing activity to the reading and sharing of Canadian stories. I am happy to include this book in my Canada 150 project.

My husband and I are spending our 4th wedding anniversary in the Niagara region today, and on our way down to The Falls, Chris took me to Port Dalhousie for the carousel-- just like he did on our first anniversary! While we were there, I left this book propped on a ledge by the entrance where you line up to ride. I picked this book for this location because in spite of the variety of animals on this carousel, there are no polar bears!
