Journal Entry 1 by JessicaEby from Cambridge, Ontario Canada on Thursday, November 16, 2017
I bought this book at a local charity shop in my hometown of Cambridge, Ontario. I really like poetry as well as children's literature and Canadiana, so I was excited to find this book of Canadian poetry geared to kids.

I read through it quickly, and there's a fair bit of silliness, which is not really my thing. I don't mean to say it's bad-- just not entirely my style. A lot of the rhymes in this book would make good skipping rhymes, and actually the poems often have symbols alongside them indicating what kind of kid-activities they are good for (skipping, actions, clapping along, choosing a la eenie-meenie-miney-mo). There were a few poems in the book that I was pretty fond of. I think my two favourites were the last two in the book, "Northern Lights Wish" and "Sleep All Night."

In celebration of the sesquicentennial, I have dedicated this year's bookcrossing activity to the reading and sharing of Canadian literature. I thought this book of poems for young Canadians would make a good inclusion for my Canada 150 project!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I released this book in Orangeville tonight on the way home from the Bruce-Grey area. I left it in a protective bag, propped against the window of Dragonfly Arts on Broadway, behind the roadside moose. I chose this location because of the whimsical moose on the cover of the book.

If you've found this book, thanks for picking it up and checking out its journal! If you're new to bookcrossing, welcome. We'd love it if you'd stick around with us a while. I really hope that you enjoy both this book and the whole bookcrossing experience!

This book was released as part of the 2017 "52 Towns in 52 Weeks" Release Challenge. I finished my 52 in the summer, but I've kept on going. Orangeville was Town #99 for me!
