About the Book:
Published September 2013
Elsa is seven years old and different. Her grandmother is seventy-seven years old and crazy, standing-on-the-balcony-firing-paintball-guns-at-men-who-want-to-talk-about-Jesus-crazy. She is also Elsa's best, and only, friend. At night Elsa takes refuge in her grandmother's stories, in the Land of Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas where everybody is different and nobody needs to be normal.
When Elsa's grandmother dies and leaves behind a series of letters apologizing to people she has wronged, Elsa's greatest adventure begins. Her grandmother's letters lead her to an apartment building full of drunks, monsters, attack dogs, and totally ordinary old crones, but also to the truth about fairytales and kingdoms and a grandmother like no other.

MY REVIEW:
This took me longer to read than Fredrik Backman's debut novel, but in no way did I enjoy it less.
Its a beautiful novel and I enjoy how the author tells the story through third person narrative. Seems the characters of Fredrik Backman's novels are on the Autism spectrum, and the way he delivers this is stunning.
Really enjoying reading this author, and will continue to do so.
(I add physical postage stamps to my packages when possible. If you are not a collector yourself, check out the I collect postage stamps because... thread to find them a happy home.)
Thank you for sending me this book, lovingly wrapped in sparkly paper. It is a perfect Christmas present. I am looking forward to share in Elsa's story. And I will pass the stamps along.

I absolutely loved this book. Thank you for giving me this reading experience. The book is wise and poignant and sweet. It is not often that I care about every character in the book. I will definitely be following the works of this author.
