Another good Joe Pickett story. Good plot and character development, excellent descriptions of the area and the crime scenes. A good series!
This story features Nate Romanowski. Nate has been recuperating from wounds received while dealing with past crimes. He is confronted by a couple of special operators to make a deal. If he helps them, they'll make his criminal record disappear. Joe takes second seat in this tale. He determines that these operators are not what they seem and they have a very different plan in mind. This might take them all down including Nate and Joe. An interesting and frightening concept. A very good read!!

What a nice surprise!!! Thank you so much for thinking of me and sharing the book with me. I really appreciate it.
Enjoyed this book. I believe that C. J. Box's writing is getting better. The story line revolves around a terrorist group that joins with a group who is against the spying of the government on private individuals. This group is unaware that these new "members" are terrorist. What is scary is that this could really happen here in America. The terrorists slipped into the US by the open boarder in the south. Of course, Joe, along with Nate, are the heroes. Sheridan is beginning to play a larger part as her character is being develped. Is Box going to replace Joe with Sheridan now that Joe is getting older?
