I like these short novellas & this one was picked up in a charity shop in a "Fill-a-bag-for-£2" offer. Surprisingly I restrained myself to only one bag.....

Earmarked for taking on my jollies, & if it does go with me, it won't be coming back! It will be released somewhere in Florida, so if you're reading this PLEASE let me know where you found it or how it got to you - it would be much appreciated :o)

Review
"I'm not on trial. San Francisco is."
An accused murderer called Kingfisher is about to go on trial for his life. Or is he? By unleashing unexpected violence on the lawyers, jurors and police involved in the case, he has paralysed the city. Detective Lindsay Boxer and the Women's Murder Club are caught in the eye of the storm.
I'm only up to book three in the Women's Murder Club series & so am a bit out of sync as now Lindsay is not only wed but has a child. In fact, two of Lindsay's mates are now hooked up with either one of Lindsay's colleagues or are in the police/justice dept. Anyway it doesn't matter in the slightest as this story would make sense to anyone coming in new to the series.
It's a good, quick read in which San Francisco is being held hostage due to the trial of a drugs cartel boss. Not a lot to say about it really, its typical JP, it moves quick & its entertaining -it would be great on the big screen. The ending, to my mind, was left open & I can see one character coming back again to haunt Lindsay in the future.
