Despite hurricanes, no electricity etc, this book arrived safely from Puerto Rico - mooched well before the catastrophic weather hit. This is first in the eponymous series.

This was a little bit all over the place, but not unpleasantly so. There were pretty much two heroines, because both Jemma and Roberta were significant characters in this story. Roberta's obsession with Villiers is relatively incomprehensible (other than that he is so different from her father), but the whole story reads well. Having spent six years with a chess player, this brought back some memories... Always gratifying to get a hold of the first in a series - especially when I know I have the next on my TBR shelf!
