Lucas Burton hates the countryside. To him it's nothing but mud, muck and dead things. And he's right.
When he turns up at a deserted farm to conduct a business deal, he stumbles across the body of a girl...
A Campbell and Carter mystery.

Thank you sooo much for sending these books to me: I love crime stories... and I love the Cotswolds!

Currently reading it. :)
I really, really enjoyed reading this novel, I am becoming a huge fan of Ms Granger's.
A very interesting plot, with well-defined and described characters, and a final twist I did not see coming. I was initially slightly put off by the horse setting, but the plot swiftly moved on, and became more to my liking.
I really liked Inspector Jess Campbell, I believe this is the first novel where she takes the lead, and I think it is worth looking for more.
As any novel taking place in London and the Cotswolds, I enjoyed reading about these places which bring back very happy memories.
Thanks for sharing, motherof11; the novel will soon travel to its new reader, and I hope she'll enjoy it as much as I did. :)
