I have to say I was quite disappointed with this book :(
The "Romance" in it completely ruined what could have been a decent story. Also, the female protagonist is meant to be this tough, strong woman and all she did throughout the book was have panic attacks, tremble with fear, stand (if she could) on shaking legs, take shaky breaths and shoot sideways glances at the male protagonist.......hmmm, sounds more like a Victorian damsel in distress - bring out the smelling salts, before she swoons!

you know this is the first hint this novel is a 'romance' - i had thought it was a mystery - and wow parry is heavily into the romance writers associations in australia and america - now i search for her bio and she writes "romantic thrillers" - oh well we shall see - not many writers can combine mystery nd romance and we tend towards one or the other as readers
maybe this shall be a quickish read then (and i have permission to quit reading at page 50! if it does not mystify me hehee)
i did hear an interview on local radio about one of her later novels - she lives somewhere out my way - so maybe i can overlook the romance as i search for familiar places within the novel
