I've had this Dover softcover on my keeper shelves for ages, and I think it's time it went traveling. It contains eight of Onions' atmospheric tales, of which my favorites include:
"The Beckoning Fair One" - see my detailed comments here
"Phantas", in which a dying 18th-century seaman has visions of the future.
"Benlian" is something of a twist on the "Pygmalion" concept, deftly presented.
"The Lost Thyrsus," which features a woman getting caught up in a Bacchanalian madness.
"The Cigarette Case" is a more typical ghost story - I've heard the basic premise often - but is presented here in deft fashion.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I left this book on a bench near the glassblowers' work area, after taking a photo with the falls and the covered bridge just outside. Hope the finder enjoys it!
