I got this slim softcover at Toadstool Books in Peterborough NH. It's the charming tale of how friends of the author discovered a late-to-hatch quail egg near their Cape Cod home in 1962. The egg hatched into "something resembling a wet bumblebee in size and appearance" - a baby quail, dubbed Bob, then Robert. The book describes the increasingly social life of the little bird, and includes illustrations by Dugald Stermer.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I planned to leave this book inside the LFL at Slater's on Main St. in Bolton, but it wasn't open when I got there; will have to remember to check its hours next time. Left the book on a chair on the porch instead; hope someone enjoys it!
