This book was among the generous boxes-o-books that BCer tobysrus brought me on this very hot day, as part of her downsizing/decluttering efforts.
This one's by the author of Wild Animus, which became somewhat notorious in BookCrossing circles after Shapero gave out copies at the first ever BC convention in St. Louis in 2004. While I enjoyed some aspects of it (and enjoyed Shapero's slide show of Alaska very much indeed), overall I found the book problematic. I have had my eye caught by Arms From the Sea now and then, though, as its cover art is really lovely. Will I dip into it? Maybe... maybe not!
Later: looks to be a dystopian tale with lots of surreal elements, but it didn't draw me in; perhaps someone else will enjoy it.
