I got this fair-condition hardcover from a local Salvation Army thrift shop. Christie originally wrote this as a play, first produced in 1930; this novel is an adaptation of the play by Charles Osborne, the only writer allowed to adapt Christie's work by her estate. While I've enjoyed many of the Poirot stories, I find that I prefer the short stories to the novels - and I prefer other Christie characters to Poirot, with my favorite being the mysterious Mr. Quin.
