I got this fair-condition ex-library hardcover at the Book Cellar. I like this series of state-themed alphabet books, and this one deals with neighboring Maine. Some of the entries are a bit wry, such as "B is for Beans - B&M and L.L." I knew about L. L. Beans, of course, but didn't know that B&M bean company was in Maine! The book also explains what "down East" actually means, and has several nods to the original settlers, including "P stands for Penobscots, and Passamaquoddies, the first people of Maine".
There's a little quiz at the end of the book, in case you want to see how much you learned!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I plan to leave this book on a bench overlooking the beautiful lighthouse this afternoon; hope the finder enjoys it! [Update: the joke's on me; while it was sunny most of the way up, there was heavy fog around the lighthouse, so not as much of a view as I'd hoped. Can you spot the lighthouse in the photo?]
