Time Guardian, Vol. 1
5 journalers for this copy...
High school studen Miu Asahina stumbles upon a shop where time is loaned to anyone who needs it, with a price. It seems like Miu has some special ability (which is true of half of the Japanese high school students in the manga world...) and is hired to be the assistant, though the compassionate girl can't help getting involved in every case.
I find the concept of a time loaning shop quite interesting. Like similar stories such as Pet Shop of Horrror, Plant Dolls and The Tarot Card, this is comprised of short stories as one after another customers come to the shop with their needs. At least in this series, most of them seem to have good endings.
This is going into the manga relay.

This book rode to the end of the relay game and landed in my TBR mountain. Thank you!
This was an entertaining read, although I've read too much sci-fi that involves time paradoxes and conflicts so I kept expecting things to somehow go wrong. Instead this is really focused on the social and human repercussions of changing time. The idea of people having to give up their memories of a past time in order to change the timeline is a creative one. Each story is fairly self-contained, but there look like there may start to be a few threads that will be developed over the course of the series.
The art isn't anything particularly special. It can sometimes feel a little utilitarian for a fantasy series, but I suppose it helps ground Miu in the "real" world.

Sent out as a RABCK
Thank you for sending this RABCK box of books! What I don't keep to read will be spread around to LFLs, as RABCKs, or to one of the two book fairs the BCinDC group gives away books at in Maryland.
Sounds interesting!
Sounds interesting!
Cute story with some interesting concepts on time lending from a time pawnshop. I’m curious to see stories on the people who come to the shop to purchase the memories.
