I found this slightly-battered softcover in this Little Free Library in Andover, MA, while dropping off some books of my own. I've enjoyed other books by Baxter, including Immoveable Feast and A Pound of Paper, so I'm looking forward to reading this one.

Later: Oddly enough, this wasn't as much fun as I'd hoped; the concept of evening tours of Paris themed on the senses was great, and the author's experience with literary-themed tours sounded promising, but in practice I found the book a bit drawn-out and disconnected, more a personal memoir with occasional tidbits about locations than an inviting look at unusual parts of the city. Even the visits to places that I'd enjoyed when I was there were a bit disappointing; for example, the author didn't seem all that impressed with the Catacombs, which for me were an amazing and memorable experience. Ah, well!
