I got this paperback at Barnes and Noble today, attracted by the stark cover-image and the Arctic-horror premise. (I enjoyed the author's anthology Thirteen Views of the Suicide Woods.)
Later: The story started out well enough, with the main character trying to cope with a new and difficult assignment among a crew who considers him outside the pale. But it got increasingly surreal, with plot twists that I didn't care for, and I didn't get as involved with the main character as I'd have liked.
