Keleios the Half-Elf was but five years old when she saw her mother murdered by the evil witch Harque. For years she has asked the gods for the strength she'll need to avenge this foul death, and it seems the gods have answered her. She's been granted an array of powers never before seen in one person, but she has also acquired a most terrifying burden, a demonmark. This mark can open the door to undreamed abilities, but it can also open her soul to the forbidden dark side of magic. Keleios must choose between the demonmark's tainted power and the lives of those she holds most dear. In an epic battle of good versus evil, of enchanted swords and shapeshifting dragons, of unquenchable hatred and unlikely love, Keleios must face her own demons—before she can acquire the most important power of all: the power to forgive.
The book has arrived and survived the incessant torrential rain the previous week. I need to get a few TBRs done before I can start this one, but if everything goes as planned, that shouldn't be long.
Enjoy the book and don't forget to journal it so that people have an idea of where it is going :)

This has arrived in snowy Swiss Alps - thanks so much for sending! It finds me in very busy time work-wise, so I'll try to get to it soon, but will just have to see. I'm not sure where this goes next, however? Thanks so much for making it available.

This is here as a bookcrossing ring, and I'm not entirely sure I would have read it otherwise. I found the beginning rather confusing. There were a great many people (or creatures) from different groups and lands - black healers, white healers, dragons and what not - perhaps a chart of the different groups would have been helpful. I persevered, and gradually came to enjoy it more, despite the rather incessantly apocalyptic tone of it. The relationship between the two main characters is ambiguous at best, and unless pages were missing from this copy, the ending is far from conclusive as to what the nature of their relationship will eventually become. Interesting though, so thanks for making this available. Hopefully I'll find time to parcel and post in the not too distant future! Happy 2018!

Despite several messages, I never heard back directly from the next in line, but Mankyi has given me the address. This now leaves the Swiss Alps for Edinburgh - hopefully it will arrive safely. Thanks for making this available. All the best for a brilliant 2018!
AT LAST NEWS from the wilds of Scotland! FIRST APOLOGIES penelopewanders for being out of touch, family illness hit on 17th Dec and I have rarely been on email since due to challenges with internet access while not at home. (Techie dinosaur on precipitous learning curve, only now getting to grips with smart phone donated to me by family so we can WhatsApp instant communications.)
This week doing a flying visit to Edinburgh to check my postal mail I found an intriguing lump under my door-mat??? Total joy to find the lump is a BX book. Of course current events had wiped out my memory of signing up for this so many thanks all for your strenuous efforts getting this to me!

Well, it seems I have to be hugely grateful for the key-lock stairwell access and especially kind neighbours as the ‘Nightseer’ book parcel left Switzerland on the 19 January so was a ‘lump’ under my doormat from whenever it arrived till Monday 5th February!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Nightseer was a fascinating read as an early novel from Laurell K. Hamilton as she seems to arrive in the publishing world with that push and pull of repulsion/attraction fully developed. It’s that very same element that fuels all the subsequent intimate relationships she conjures up. I would be surprised if this rather than Hamilton’s first novel, was instead the first published?
Nightseer shows much of the later typical Hamilton dramatic action based plots heavily dependent on a, here, conflicted but in later works increasingly tortured push me pull me dangerous relationship between two featuring characters drawn together as much by a twisted destructive fascination as by desire. Thankfully it’s not full of the endless pages of orgy that her later works melt into.
Many thanks Mankyl, this was an interesting reading adventure and I think ought to be with you any day now I think having been posted at the end of last week if I recall. Pardon me, my memory is a little uncertain as I have been posting so many books recently! (NOTE to self, get all the BX admin done on those!!!)

Of course, the book won't be staying long on the shelf and will continue its journey very soon.

Gave it to a friend who has it on her wishlist.

Bookcrossers LOVE books, and more than anything, they love to read books and then set them free for other people to find and enjoy. I would love it if you would leave a journal entry -- you can say where you found the book or how you liked it when you read it.
