WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Although the writing is beautiful and evocative, I had this book sitting beside my bed for over a year. I just couldn't make much headway through it. Finally I released the hardcover volume and instead tackled the audiobook, which I checked out from the library.
I have enjoyed the audiobook somewhat, enough to keep going through it. But I stick by my initial impression that this book is way, WAY too long!
