Back to Kitten 22 for Katayoun's M-Bag
Arrived safely today. Will read asap.
This story is about Logan and Catherine. Logan is an assistant D.A. who comes from a weathly family and has no intention of doing what his father wants. His father wants him to run for mayor but Logan figures if he can cause enough of a scandal, he will drop it. Catherine is scandal itself, with her family's background, the uncle who ran an escort service. A quick fling would be a perfect solution but emotions become involved and they fall in love.
These books are getting better as we go along the series. I like this one more than the first. The story is more believable, not as fairy-tale, or far-fetched. Granted, romances are generally fairy tales and far fetched, but I have to be able to swallow at least part of it.

I didn't like the story about Cat and Logan quite as much as the first book. The language was too overblown and the story dragged on. I was surprised Logan was always so patient with Cat's constant pessimism. She always expected him to reassure her and come running after her. Even considering her background and her resulting fears, she could have been a bit more trusting and friendly toward Logan.
But I have to agree with kitten22: the introduction of Emma (the grandmother) into the story was a great idea. She's quite a character!

Thanks, I received it today!
I think this was the weakest part of the trilogy - the fear of falling in love and spending rest of your life with a man who comes from a rich and influential family is a bit outdated for me. However, I liked the story.

Much better characters than the first book. I liked Logan and Cat--and Logan's Grandmother. I still think things went awfully fast for a woman with limited experience, the whole story takes place in just three weeks time! I thought it would have been nice to see some resolution between Logan and his Dad, but maybe Phillip is saving that for the third book.
