A friend gave me that book - she didn't like it. I found the first few pages quite cool, and I place it on my TBR pile.

Update August 2007:
I scanned a few more pages, and I don't like it either. Maybe s.o. else will appreciate it - I'll take it to the next Frankfurt Meetup.

Durchgelesen, und ich fand es sehr spannend, besonders die Stelle, wo der Held beim Mafiaboss einbricht...

Am Anfang dreht sich die Geschichte hauptsächlich darum, wie der Ich-Erzähler den 11. Septeber 2001 erlebt hat, aber irgendwann dreht es, und die Beziehung zu seiner Geliebten tritt in den Vordergrund (die übrigens mit erwähntem Mafiaboss verheiratet ist...)

"A couple of ice cubes, first, then the apple that really started it all. A loft apartment in London´s East End; cool but doomed, demolition and redevelopment slated for the following week. Kent Nott, devoutly contrarian leftish shock-jock attending a mid-week wedding lunch, starts dropping stuff off the roof towards the deserted car park a hundred feet below. other guests join in and soon half the contents of the flat are following the fruit towards the pitted tarmac ... just as mobiles start to ring, and the apartment´s remaining TV is turned on, because apparently a plane has chrashed into the World Trade Center ..."


20th March 2011 - Picked it from my pile of books to read and made the decision, not to read it. It doesn´t sound like my kind of book, but hopefully, it will move on to someone who likes to read it soon.

Took this on holiday to read...got to page 46...my husband nicked it off me and then proceeded to tell me all about "Ken's" adventure. So i guess theres no reason for me to continue as i feel like ive read it myself anyway lol
