This is no nonsence SciFi about the crew of a tunnelingship who get the assigment to build a spacetunnel from more or less the center of the galaxy, where a new species has just joined the space aliance. But the alliance has more eye for harvesting the center area, and the new species has their own reasons to join. Everyone on the ship, all loveable characters, all different species with their own culture have to live together with their secrets for the journey to the planet where the tunnel should begin. It is quiet introspective SF about different species, different cultures and what it is that binds us together.
