I'm a big fan of Greg Bear. :) This book contains 9 diverse tales, including the nebula winning Blood Music, which I have ead previously in the expanded novel. But because it's been several years between the two, I can't say which I preferred. But this is what I said about the novel:

I'm with davemurray~~a fantastic read~~ A tsunami of a read,
catching you with a roar, and sweeping far thru till the end!! And it
did feel 'up-to-the-minute;" hard to believe it was written over 20
years ago.

and, should you be interested, that book continued as a ray, and totalled 18 journallers. it can be found here:

other stories in here.... there were no stinkers...... i found Schrödinger's Plague an interesting conundrum....Dead Run... a quirky take....Tangents made me think of Heinlein's "And he Built A Crooked House"........and my favorite would be the heartrending Sisters.

All in all, an excellent collection.

For those who like science in their SF.

I'm almost done reading this so wanted to make an update. It is an interesting set of short stories from Bear.
