Another of Patricia Cornwell's famous Scarpetta novels. Chief Medical Examiner and those close to her are enmeshed in a complex web of intrigue. In a thriller full of twists and turns Scarpetta finds herself at The Last Precinct. Scary and exciting with an ensemble cast of characters by now familiar to Cornwell's readers, I would recommend this 'cosyish' thriller to adult readers who appreciate a well crafted potboiler. Not stellar literature but reliably engaging. Despite the grizzly details these novels are not too confronting because of the consistent cast of decent characters on the side of the law.
