Received in the mail via the Book Depository as a surprise
This is an entertaining read, regarding the retired Mrs Pollifax volunteering for the CIA and being accidentally sent on her first mission to Mexico to recover some microfilms. Except she gets abducted by the Red Chinese and flown to Albania with another secret agent and somehow manages to escape and return home rescuing a mysterious AngloChinese scientist presumed dead for the previous two years!!!
It's a cross between Tintin and Miss Marple!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Mailed out to a UK bookcrosser with a few extra goodies!!
Thank you Andrea99. I have a rotten cold at the minute. so your parcel really cheered me up! Thanks for the extra treats in the form of art postcards and a bookmark, yay!
I really wasn't sure what to expect from this book. It is all a bit far-fetched. However, I decided to suspend my sense of disbelief and just enjoy it. Although a bit dated, it was a lot more fun than reading a serious political thriller or cold war novel. I think I'll look out for more in this series. Thanks for sharing this one with me Andrea99!
And off it goes in a HGG 2018 parcel. Happy reading!
Thank you for the huge Christmas parcel which arrived today, first for 2019! We have a Christmas card scenery outside at the moment, it has snowed heavily for two days so I can well believe that Santa has started his year a bit early.
There was also another book in the parcel, a big bag of English Breakfast tea, a beautiful Scottish all-year-round ornament, some BC-labels and bookmarks, a Christmas card + a lovely letter.
I have actually read this book already, but I am very happy having got it again as when I was in Britain last September, I had given the book to my travelling companion for travel read, having first recommended it. She finished the book she was reading and when it was time to get to know Mrs Pollifax the book had unexpectedly dissapeared! I don't know if I had accidently left it in the hotel or released it in the wild, but my friend was a bit annoyed...
Edit: In case you want to see the well-travelled copy of the other Mrs Pollifax book, here is the link: https://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/11273490/

Off to my workmate. She is very happy having gotten another chance to read this book.
As my workmate still hadn't read the book I confiscated it and will replace another Mrs.Pollifax adventure in her shelf once I've read it, but this book is needed elsewhere...
The receiver is an inventive person, so I hope she will enjoy the McGyver element of Mrs. Pollifax's travels. Have fun!

Received this all the way from Finland! Sorry it took me so long to log it. It is here, safe and on my stack to read. Once I have I will find someone to send it off to. Thanks for including me in this adventure 8)
