Nothing to Declare: Memoirs of a Woman Traveling Alone (Penguin Travel Library Series)

Picked this up at the SOS booksale. It's a memoir by a woman who discovered herself through her travels. I've read about it being inspiring.
I read this just because I'm going to Mexico (or planning to, in any case). I haven't got much to say about the book, I found it pretty empty and unfulfilling as far as her "personal growth" is concerned - I can't really image how she could have felt so alone with a boyfriend hassling her for marriage. The randomly interspersed spiritual musings weren't particularly insipiring or pointful. In any case, I was just looking for descriptions of Mexico, which I found, though not in great abundance. The writing style was simple and straightforward, not necessarily a bad thing; but serious issues such as responsibility for another's death were skimmed over, which left me a little unsatisfied.
***
This is now going to my friend Lidija, a rather lame attempt to persuade her that Mexico is a good idea!

Well, doesn't look like I'll be needing this or giving it to my friend any more, as the Mexico plan is off...
