The young dragon keepers are slowly uncovering Kelsingra's ancient secrets, especially Rapskal who loses himself in memory stone to the extent that he takes on the personality of an ancient elderling warrior. Selden Vestrit, one of Tintaglia's elderlings, having been kept as a 'dragon-man', is presented to the Duke of Chalced as a slave. When the great dragon Tintaglia is herself attacked and severely wounded by the Chalcedeans, she makes her way back to Kelsingra. And Hest, Alise's husband and Sedric's lover, is forced by the Chalcedeans to travel to Kelsingra himself. A confrontation is coming. Fantastic finale to the Rain Wild Chronicles.
