Dr. Nadine Lavoie works in the lockdown ward of a psychiatric hospital. She has the tools to help people, and she has the desire: healing broken families is what she lives for. But Nadine doesn’t want to look too closely at her family life―her daughter, Lisa, ran away and is still living on the streets―or her past, which is filled with black holes. Until a suicidal woman is admitted, and the details of her back story reveal troubling parallels with Nadine’s own life.

Taking this to today's meeting of the Boston Bookcrossers.
I claimed this creepy-sounding softcover at this afternoon's BookCrossing Meetup at the Porter Square Panera in Cambridge MA. (Was tickled to see that it originated in France!)
Later: Not quite what I expected; definitely creepy, but with so much tragedy involving many, many people making poor decisions, suffering from drug dependencies and/or abusive pasts... I was pleased at how it concluded, but there was so much collateral damage along the way that I can't say I enjoyed it as a whole. (On the other hand, the cat was OK {wry grin}.)
