Without doubt Kent Haruf's understanding of the human psyche makes for wonderfully interesting characters. His writing nails hidden truths through behavior and simple dialogue.
Another subtle yet brutally honest story from this skillful author who, sadly, we lost in 2014.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I need books for Norfolk and this is a perfect size for tucking into my luggage. Has been on Mt TBR for far too long. Will read this afternoon, it is very tempting. Update. I read it. Wonderful writing. Very evocative of small town America and the ordinary people who inhabit rural towns everywhere. What a sad ending.
